Foundation Sports Clinics is a locally owned, mom-founded business — not a large sports franchise. And it all started with a pretty relatable parenting struggle!
Hi! I'm Abbie Faircloth, a Raleigh mom of two (Clara, 7, and William, 5), and I'm so glad you're here!
When my own kids started exploring youth sports, I quickly noticed a gap in how children are introduced to new sports. As parents, we're often expected to sign our kids up for an entire season of a sport they've never played, purchase all the equipment, and hope they actually enjoy it.
I've been there! We've made it through soccer, lacrosse, and baseball seasons only to hear, sometimes just a week in, that a particular sport "wasn't their thing."
Don't get me wrong — those experiences taught my kids valuable lessons about commitment, teamwork, and perseverance. But as a busy mom, I kept wishing there was an easier way for my kids to JUST TRY a sport before committing to an entire season, both financially and in terms of time.
That's where the idea for Foundation Sports Clinics was born!
My goal was simple: create an easy, affordable, and FUN way for kids to explore different sports without the pressure of a season-long commitment or the cost of investing in equipment.
I also wanted to offer something I felt was missing from many traditional youth sports programs: a real focus on learning the fundamentals BEFORE jumping into game play.
At Foundation Sports Clinics, kids get the opportunity to learn the basic skills of a sport through fun, age-appropriate drills, games, and activities. We keep our groups small so every child gets individual coaching attention — and so those first-time nerves are a little easier to overcome!
Beginner-Friendly: No previous experience necessary! Our clinics are designed to welcome kids who are brand new to a sport.
Experienced Coaches: Your child will learn from coaches who have both played and coached the sport, bringing valuable experience and a passion for working with young athletes.
All Equipment Provided: No need to invest in expensive equipment just to see if your child enjoys a new sport.
Small Groups: More individual attention, more opportunities to practice, and a more comfortable environment for beginners.
Fun Comes First: We believe kids learn best when they're having fun! Our goal is to make every clinic a positive experience that leaves kids excited to come back.
Above all, I want every child to feel welcome, encouraged, and proud of what they've learned — whether they discover their new favorite sport or simply have fun trying something different!
Our very first clinic was in the fall of 2025. I'm excited to continue growing Foundation Sports Clinics and introducing even more sports to our local communities. As we grow, one thing will always stay the same: our commitment to helping kids build skills, confidence, and friendships in a fun, supportive, low-pressure environment.
Thank you for supporting a small, mom-founded business and giving your kids the opportunity to TRY SOMETHING NEW!
I can't wait to see what sport they fall in love with! 💚
